Joy Malone is a Fine Art Photographer who specializes in the nighttime landscape. She holds a Master’s degree of Fine Arts in Fine Art Photography from Academy of Art University. Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, she grew up with an appreciation for the arts. As an undergrad at St. John’s University she took a photography course as an elective and fell head over heels in love with the medium.

Having deep roots in Girl Scouting, Joy designed a photography program to help expose girls to the art of darkroom photography. She approached the Girl Scouts of Westchester Putnam and after approval, converted a small closet into a darkroom. Over 100 girls and a few boys participated in the program.

In 2005 Joy graduated from St. John’s University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a minor in Photography. She went on to graduate with her MFA in Fine Art Photography from AAU in 2010.

Currently, she is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at St. John's University, a photographer for Bella Baby Photography, and she runs Joy Malone Photography where she freelances and shoots commissioned work. She has won multiple awards for her night work, exhibited in galleries, as well as sold pieces domestically and abroad.
